I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I know I said I would keep posting daily… but then there was this thing called Thanksgiving that fell in the middle of the week, and it threw me off my schedule a little bit. And you know me and T-Giving; I love it so much – it’s my favorite holiday, right after Christmas and Easter and Halloween. It’s the one time of year that I truly indulge in the kitchen, crafting one of my famed Tom Terrific Apple Crumb Pies. (Look how good that looks, right?)
And this year was no different – in all I made five of them – two for Thanksgiving Dinner, one for a Thanksgiving Midnight Snack, one for my pastor, and the other one for our next president, Mr. Fred Thompson. (I might just start calling him President Thompson now!) I wonder if he got it; I sent it to the set of COLD CASE. That’s the show he was on, right? If not, hopefully they can forward it to him before it gets too runny.
And now I’m back! And I’m about to undertake the biggest project this blog has seen yet – a sequential review of the James Bond movies. I went to my local Costco and bought THIS the other day:
Before you think I’m made of money, I used a gift card that I had hanging around, and Costco had it for a mere $179.00. And if this thing sucks, I will be unloading it on eBay faster than you can say “Vintage Seltzer” (the other thing I picked up at Costco that day).
The set contains every James Bond movie, from DR NO up to the most recent CASINO ROYALE. And for some reason I haven’t seen most of these in their entirety. Parts here and there during TBS marathons, but since I’ve never been a big James Bond fan, a lot of this stuff is gonna be pretty new to me.
I will also include a ratings system for different criteria. Here are the categories I came up with so far:
JAMES BOND QUIPS
TOM’S BOREDOM LEVEL
I KNOW IT’S OLD BUT THAT’S JUST EMBARRASSING
Am I missing anything? I should have my DR NO review and rating up tomorrow, so be on the lookout for it!
I hope your Thanksgivings were all awesome. And now we get ready to make an exciting push into 2008!
